Where Summer Stories Begin

Where Summer Stories Begin

The Story Begins at the Front Door

There is something special about summertime in the South.

Hydrangeas are in bloom, porches become gathering places, and the front door quietly welcomes neighbors, family, and friends. It’s a season filled with celebrations—Fourth of July cookouts, weddings, beach weekends, and evenings that seem to linger just a little longer.

At Cobblestones & Grits, we believe every season tells its own story.

Sometimes that story begins with a wreath sash fluttering in the breeze. Other times it’s embroidered cocktail napkins waiting for guests, a bouquet wrap carried down the aisle, or a monogram stitched onto a keepsake that will be treasured for years.

These aren’t simply embroidered pieces—they’re small details that become part of life’s most meaningful moments.

This month, our inspiration has wandered to the coast.

Our new Coastal Stories Collection celebrates the places where salt air, front porches, and Southern hospitality meet. From the graceful Heron, timeless Palmetto, welcoming Pineapple, and playful Seahorse, each design tells a story of life along the Southern coast. And keep an eye out…a Blue Crab will soon be joining the collection.

Whether your heart belongs to Charleston, the Carolina coast, or simply the slower rhythm of coastal living, we hope these designs bring a little seaside charm to your home.

Society Member Spotlight

This month we’re celebrating one of our Society members whose front porch is dressed in red, white, and blue for America’s 250th Anniversary.

With a classic wreath, patriotic accents, and an embroidered wreath sash, this welcoming porch is a beautiful reminder that hospitality begins long before guests step inside.

Thank you for sharing your home with us and allowing Cobblestones & Grits to become a small part of your story.

This Month’s Favorite Sip

Hugo Spritz

Light, floral, bubbly, and wonderfully refreshing—this has quickly become our favorite summer cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 5 oz Prosecco
  • 2 oz elderflower liqueur (such as St-Germain)
  • A splash of sparkling water
  • Fresh mint
  • Lime wheel
  • Ice

Fill a wine glass with ice. Add the elderflower liqueur, pour in the Prosecco, top with sparkling water, and gently stir. Garnish with fresh mint and a lime wheel.

Cobblestones & Grits Pro Tip: Add a spoonful of lychee popping boba for a fun burst of sweetness and texture. They’re easy to find on Amazon and make this cocktail perfect for porch evenings, bridal showers, and summer entertaining.

The Last Stitch

The South has always understood that the smallest details often leave the biggest impression.

A welcoming front porch. Fresh flowers on the table. Linen napkins shared with friends. A wreath that marks the changing of the seasons.

They’re simple things, but they become part of our family’s story.

Thank you for allowing us to stitch a few of those moments alongside you. Whether you’re welcoming guests, celebrating life’s milestones, or simply making home a little more beautiful, we’re grateful to be part of your story.

Next month on the porch… A love story, beautifully stitched.

Until then,
Elise
